Huawei Works with VarConnectz to Release Cloud Videoconferencing Solution in Singapore

Huawei Works with VarConnectz to Release Cloud Videoconferencing Solution in Singapore
[Singapore, December 14, 2016] On December 14, Huawei, the world-leading information and communications solution provider, worked with its Singapore partner VarConnectz to successfully release the Cloud Videoconferencing Solution. The release conference attracted representatives from more than 30 enterprises. Traditionally, enterprises develop videoconferencing systems independently, which consumes a lot of budgets. Huawei's Cloud Videoconferencing Solution uses innovative, all-in-one videoconferencing endpoints (TE10, TE20, and TE30) to integrate with VarConnectz's CallnMeet Cloud Platform. The alliance between Huawei and VarConnectz allows real implementation of cloud-device collaboration and enables enterprises to gain tangible benefits from cloud applications.

Gustav, head of VarConnectz Cloud Videoconferencing, introducing the CallnMeet Cloud Videoconferencing Platform

Gustav said that the CallnMeet Cloud Platform provides enterprise users with mobile conferencing and videoconferencing resources. With cloud video endpoints, users can efficiently access the platform and convene video conferences anytime, anywhere based on their business requirements. The platform supports interconnection with enterprises' existing communications systems, such as Skype. The CallnMeet Cloud Videoconferencing Platform seamlessly interconnects with Huawei's videoconferencing endpoints. Customers can freely choose Huawei's HD, easy-to-use video communications products and services. The cooperation will also drive CallnMeet's future development.

Miao Shi, Director of Huawei Unified Communications, South Pacific, introducing Huawei's cloud video endpoints

Miss Miao introduced three Huawei cloud video conferencing endpoints. TE10 is the world's first 6-in-1 (codec, camera, microphone, speaker, Wi-Fi & BlueTooth, and installation rack) light-weight cloud endpoint. The highly integrated design brings minimal-style appearance and optimal user experiences. Users can conveniently convene video conferences with 2 cables and 1 minute of installation. No special training is needed. The HD cloud endpoint TE20 applies to small- and mid-sized meeting rooms. TE30, Huawei's star product, applies to mid-sized meeting rooms. Miss Miao also gave her insight on the trend of cloud video communications development. Huawei will continue its policies of industry standards compliance, openness, and convergence. Through open innovation and win-win cooperation with partners, Huawei will provide customers with more brilliant, high-quality video communications solutions.

"Cloud video communications are undergoing rapid development now. Cross-enterprise, cross-network communications are in vigorous growth. Huawei provides all-in-one cloud communications endpoints, such as TE10, to interconnect with industry-leading platforms like CallnMeet, bringing more choices for videoconferencing users. We believe these innovative products will help our customers efficiently build their videoconferencing systems, enjoy easy-to-use HD video communications services, and achieve efficiency improvement and service innovation."

The Cloud Video Solution and Huawei's cloud endpoints attracted a lot of attention during the event. Guests said that cloud communications require small investment costs, support linear expansion anytime, and bring more flexible and convenient communications. They will preferentially consider Huawei's products when building new videoconferencing platforms or expanding existing systems.
Cloud transformation has become a mega-trend for enterprise communications development. Huawei released the TE10, TE20, and TE30, and VarConnectz rolled out the CallnMeet Platform, to help enterprise users reduce investment and O&M costs. Together, the two companies provide professional cloud video communications experiences, driving customers to improve their working efficiency and achieve rapid development.

Huawei Helps Beijing Telecom Make the First VoLTE Video Call on its 800 MHz Network

On December 10, 2016, Huawei and Beijing Telecom made a successful VoLTE video call on a real commercially oriented network, as part of the pilot VoLTE project. The pilot project adopted the NFV architecture and connected to China Telecom's live 800 MHz network. This call is the first video call on the vIMS + VoLTE + 800 MHz network. At the recent Smart Ecological Cooperation and Terminal Industry Summit, China Telecom exhibited its plan to establish the world's first low-frequency LTE network on the 800 MHz frequency in 2017. It also planned to provide quality VoLTE services and implement integration between its own systems and terminals and the global industry chain. The success of this call marked a significant step forward for the 4G strategy of China Telecom.

The first video call on the vIMS + VoLTE + 800 MHz network

Since the rollout of China Telecom's VoLTE pilot project, Huawei and every pilot subsidiary of China Telecom have attached great importance to VoLTE network construction and pilot verification. Through close collaboration, both parties overcame a series of difficulties caused by complex NFV and VoLTE technologies and massive interfaces for joint commissioning. Together they deployed a commercial vIMS + VoLTE network in a short period of time. On December 10, they made the first HD video call on this commercially oriented VoLTE network in Beijing, laying a solid foundation for subsequent pilot operations.

China Telecom is committed to build an innovative VoLTE network based on the NFV architecture. Featuring hierarchical decoupling and universal hardware, this architecture implements flexible service orchestration and elastic scaling. The NFV architecture is agile, open, and automatic. Using this architecture, a VoLTE network can improve the service rollout speed and facilitate network capability invoking. In addition, it provides efficient service, app, and NFVI management.

China Telecom expressed that it would speed up its VoLTE commercialization in 2017. Huawei, as a strategic partner of China Telecom, will continuously help China Telecom accelerate VoLTE network construction and promote transformation to the next-generation intelligent network.

An 'All Cloud" Transformation from "All IP"

Huawei NFV solution features cloudified architecture, fast delivery, smart operation, and service innovation. It promotes network upgrades, enables digital transformation of the industry, and helps operators win business success by fulfilling subscriber requirements.

Cloudified architecture: Providing carrier-class service assurance and agile service deployment.
With the use of an all-cloud architecture, the NFV solution provides inter-regional resource sharing and smooth cross-DC service handover, and supports virtual data center (DC) establishment within minutes. The NFV solution makes one-click service deployment and automatic IT device resource management a reality for carriers. It also raises average O&M efficiency by 40%.

Fast delivery: Full integration and O&M capabilities accelerate commercial cloud network construction.
Huawei’s NFV solution provides fast integration of multi-vendor hardware and software and shortens cloud network deployment time, to support fast NFV delivery. Huawei has built three NFV Open Labs worldwide to conduct verifications and tests for multi-vendor hardware and software interworking.

Smart operation: Providing automatic and intelligent O&M after network cloudification.
Huawei NFV solution uses innovative technologies, performance assessment tools, and end-to-end (E2E) fault demarcation and location tools to ensure network agility and intelligent O&M after cloudification. The innovative technologies include service KPI-based health check and self-healing, intelligent message queue flow control, and coordination and orchestration on resource pools of different platforms. With these technologies and tools, faults can be rectified and services can be stored immediately.

Service innovation: An open network platform accelerates TTM and promotes service innovation.
The application integration capability provided by Huawei NFV solution facilitates new service development as easy as software installation on a Windows OS, thus greatly shortening third-party service time to market (TTM). The network capability open platform defined in the NFV solution opens up telecommunications network information and other capabilities to third parties, giving birth to a large number of services

As of the third quarter of 2016, Huawei has deployed more than 90 commercial cloud networks worldwide. In the future, Huawei will be devoted to building a more open, creative, and healthier industry ecosystem and cooperate with partners to create more services and business value.
