Huawei Helps Beijing Telecom Make the First VoLTE Video Call on its 800 MHz Network

On December 10, 2016, Huawei and Beijing Telecom made a successful VoLTE video call on a real commercially oriented network, as part of the pilot VoLTE project. The pilot project adopted the NFV architecture and connected to China Telecom's live 800 MHz network. This call is the first video call on the vIMS + VoLTE + 800 MHz network. At the recent Smart Ecological Cooperation and Terminal Industry Summit, China Telecom exhibited its plan to establish the world's first low-frequency LTE network on the 800 MHz frequency in 2017. It also planned to provide quality VoLTE services and implement integration between its own systems and terminals and the global industry chain. The success of this call marked a significant step forward for the 4G strategy of China Telecom.

Since the rollout of China Telecom's VoLTE pilot project, Huawei and every pilot subsidiary of China Telecom have attached great importance to VoLTE network construction and pilot verification. Through close collaboration, both parties overcame a series of difficulties caused by complex NFV and VoLTE technologies and massive interfaces for joint commissioning. Together they deployed a commercial vIMS + VoLTE network in a short period of time. On December 10, they made the first HD video call on this commercially oriented VoLTE network in Beijing, laying a solid foundation for subsequent pilot operations.

China Telecom is committed to build an innovative VoLTE network based on the NFV architecture. Featuring hierarchical decoupling and universal hardware, this architecture implements flexible service orchestration and elastic scaling. The NFV architecture is agile, open, and automatic. Using this architecture, a VoLTE network can improve the service rollout speed and facilitate network capability invoking. In addition, it provides efficient service, app, and NFVI management.

China Telecom expressed that it would speed up its VoLTE commercialization in 2017. Huawei, as a strategic partner of China Telecom, will continuously help China Telecom accelerate VoLTE network construction and promote transformation to the next-generation intelligent network.

The innovative technologies include service KPI-based health check and self-healing, intelligent message queue flow control, and coordination and orchestration on resource pools of different platforms. With these technologies and tools, faults can be rectified and services can be stored immediately.

Current Analysis Ranks Huawei as Leader in SBC

Recently, Current Analysis, a world-renowned ICT analysis agency, released its latest product assessments of Session Border Controller (SBC) models available in the global market. The Huawei SessionEngine2900 (SE2900) was tied for first place and was placed in the "leader" category in the SBC industry for the 3rd time since its launch in 2014.


In this rating, Huawei SE2900 ranked very strong across all criteria and was leader in terms of performance. The Huawei SE2900 supports the company's FusionServer platform and maximizes performance in multiple areas. David Snow, Principal Analyst at Current Analysis, stated in the report that the "Huawei SE2900 is likely the most powerful SBC offering on the market today on a per-RU basis."

In the report, David Snow summarized the advantages of Huawei SE2900 as follows:
l  The Huawei SE2900 combines low power consumption with high performance meeting both signaling and media requirements for VoLTE and RCS services.
l  The Huawei SE2900 has been deployed by more than 300 operators worldwide, including 220 IMS network deployments. From these deployments, Huawei has gained significant amount of SBC network experience.

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solution provider, recently released a new series of cloud VC products, including the CloudMCU, TE10, and TE20. CloudMCU is the key product that supports cloud VC platform deployment. TE10 and TE20 are two all-in-one HD VC endpoints that support the implementation of cloud VC experiences. In the cloud era, cloud platform development is the priority among priorities. CloudMCU, as the core component of Huawei VC cloud platform deployment, is strong in professional services. With CloudMCU in place, VC service providers and enterprises can efficiently build their cloud VC systems.

This endpoint features HD voice and video communications and superb network adaptability. In product design and application OS, TE10 uses the consumer-level minimal design. Its third-party platform access support perfectly meets users' service requirements in cloud video communications, offering industry-leading user experiences.

VC devices are getting more stylish as fashion and technology intersect. Huawei TE10 stands out from mainstream VC devices using consumer-level minimal design. With the all-in-one architecture, TE10 integrates six functional modules (HD camera, codec, microphone, speaker, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, and Foldable Bracket) into one box. Users can install and deploy devices in one minute, achieving plug-and-play for real. Huawei Introduces Innovative Cloud Video Endpoint TE10, Founds Cloud Enterprise Communications Alliance

Huawei TE10 brings HD video to Huddle-Rooms, open workspaces, mobile and cloud

(Shanghai Exhibition and Convention Center, September 1, 2016) Highlights of the Cloud Enterprise Communications session at HUAWEI CONNECT 2016 included the introduction of the Huawei TE10 Huddle-Room Cloud Video Endpoint and the new Cloud Enterprise Communications Alliance. The session also brought together over 300 experts and partners to discuss how enterprise communications can drive business agility and innovation in the cloud era.

The TE10, a major innovation in video conferencing, will enable small project teams and the general public to collaborate in small rooms over high-quality video. The TE10 is the first in the industry to incorporate six components into one endpoint and can be installed in about one minute.

The Cloud Enterprise Communications Alliance will help members migrate converged platforms to the cloud and extend applications from the office to production, according to Ma Haixu, President of Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line.

“To meet those goals, we need to strengthen technological advantages and platforms,” Ma said. “We also need to build a cloud alliance ecosystem with partners determined to build more open architectures.”

“The cooperation between Intel and Huawei will accelerate Big Video innovation,” added Wang Rui, Intel’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It will help us build a win-win ecosystem with partners and promote industry development in a rapid and healthy way.”

Wu Zhenhua, Director of Global Business Development, Strategy and Business Development, Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line, told the gathering that, in the next five years, Huawei will invest US $50 million to cultivate 40 vertical industry solutions and 300 partners. He said Huawei expects that partners will double their revenues during that time.

“We also will develop 2,000 alliance members to build an enterprise-class audio and video ecosystem for a win-win future,” Wu said.
