Current Analysis Ranks Huawei as Leader in SBC

Recently, Current Analysis, a world-renowned ICT analysis agency, released its latest product assessments of Session Border Controller (SBC) models available in the global market. The Huawei SessionEngine2900 (SE2900) was tied for first place and was placed in the "leader" category in the SBC industry for the 3rd time since its launch in 2014.


In this rating, Huawei SE2900 ranked very strong across all criteria and was leader in terms of performance. The Huawei SE2900 supports the company's FusionServer platform and maximizes performance in multiple areas. David Snow, Principal Analyst at Current Analysis, stated in the report that the "Huawei SE2900 is likely the most powerful SBC offering on the market today on a per-RU basis."

In the report, David Snow summarized the advantages of Huawei SE2900 as follows:
l  The Huawei SE2900 combines low power consumption with high performance meeting both signaling and media requirements for VoLTE and RCS services.
l  The Huawei SE2900 has been deployed by more than 300 operators worldwide, including 220 IMS network deployments. From these deployments, Huawei has gained significant amount of SBC network experience.
l  The embedded Huawei SE2900 load balancer not only supports scaling but also simplifies network design and operation.
l  Unlike most SBCs from other vendors, the Huawei SE2900 provides APIs for third-party developers, helping carriers monetize their networks and gain competitive differentiation.
l  The Huawei SE2900 has been regularly third-party validated, including the Miercom Performance Verified Certification for performance and security.

Huawei OceanConnect IoT Platform Makes Waves in West Europe

[Paris, France, October 22, 2016] The first Huawei eco-Connect Europe was held on October 20 and October 21 in Palais Brongniart, Paris. More than 1,000 business and political leaders, partners, analysts, and operators gathered together to share the latest cutting-edge technologies and service innovation topics and discuss the ICT industry ecosystem and harmonious business environment in Europe. OceanConnect Ecosystem Enables Industry Digitization

During the OceanConnect track, Mr. Wang Songtao, Vice President of the Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line, shared Huawei's vision of building an OceanConnect ecosystem with partners in his opening speech. Huawei Released a New Series of Cloud VC Products to Accelerate the Implementation of Cloud-Device Collaboration

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solution provider, recently released a new series of cloud VC products, including the CloudMCU, TE10, and TE20. CloudMCU is the key product that supports cloud VC platform deployment. TE10 and TE20 are two all-in-one HD VC endpoints that support the implementation of cloud VC experiences. These new products collaborate with each other to ensure smooth cloud-device collaboration, allowing enterprises to gain tangible benefits from cloud communications.

CloudMCU: Make VC Cloud Platform Robust and Simple

In the cloud era, cloud platform development is the priority among priorities. CloudMCU, as the core component of Huawei VC cloud platform deployment, is strong in professional services. With CloudMCU in place, VC service providers and enterprises can efficiently build their cloud VC systems.

CloudMCU supports virtual, flexible deployment on VMware and Huawei FusionSphere, and smooth expansion based on service requirements. When running on a cloud, MCU centrally controls, intelligent manages, and freely distributes resources. Traditional deployment modes are limited by hardware resources. In bottom-layer technologies, CloudMCU leverages H.264HP to reduce bandwidth consumption by 50%. The H.264 SVC and SEC3.0 super error concealment (PLC) technologies ensure the normal operations of voice and video conferences even when the packet loss rate (PLR) reaches 20%.

In addition to the CloudMCU, Huawei also released two cloud VC endpoints to support the implementation of its cloud strategy. These endpoints offer cloud VC services that feature cloud-device collaboration.
In the Huawei Connect 2016 conference, Huawei released TE10, the world's first 6-in-1 lightweight cloud VC endpoint. TE10 is an innovative product designed for cloud environments. This endpoint features HD voice and video communications and superb network adaptability. In product design and application OS, TE10 uses the consumer-level minimal design. Its third-party platform access support perfectly meets users' service requirements in cloud video communications, offering industry-leading user experiences.

VC devices are getting more stylish as fashion and technology intersect. Huawei TE10 stands out from mainstream VC devices using consumer-level minimal design. With the all-in-one architecture, TE10 integrates six functional modules (HD camera, codec, microphone, speaker, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, and Foldable Bracket) into one box. Users can install and deploy devices in one minute, achieving plug-and-play for real. With the integrated design, TE10 has a dimension of 9 cm x 9 cm x 9 cm, weights only 500g, and features an ultra-low power consumption of 8 W. This portable device has the industry-leading flexibility, boosting application efficiency. The OS also uses the lightweight design and minimal-style GUI. Menus have three or fewer layers, allowing users to complete all operations without dedicated training.

In addition to its optimal design, TE10 also features excellent voice and video quality. With professional, customized lenses, TE10 offers HD video services with wide angles and flexible zooming. The embedded MIC array has a sound pickup distance of 6 meters. In network transmission, the device has a PLC of 20%. Users can adjust device configuration based on application scenarios to get the best experiences in both personal communications and group conferences.

Huawei's first step in cloud video communications is to sell consumer-level products in a large scope. The second step is to connect these products with various cloud platforms, bringing real benefits to cloud VC customers. Huawei's TE10 uses the industry standard protocols to boost its openness. When connected to the Videxio platform, for example, TE10 uses its fast configuration and plug-and-play features to offer cloud VC services anytime, anywhere. Huawei's TE20 is an all-in-one HD VC endpoint that applies to small- and mid-sized meeting rooms. Integrated with the HD camera, codec, and microphone, TE20 features easy installation and configuration. A user without dedicated training can deploy a TE20 endpoint in less than 4 minutes. With the stylish appearance, TE20 won the iF Design Award in 2016. Compared to TE10, TE20 applies to larger, more comprehensive meeting room scenarios.
