Huawei TE10 Released in Vienna, Targeting CEE & Nordic European Region


Sept. 5-6, 2016, Huawei CEE & Nordic European Region Enterprise Group Partners Summit was held in Horfburg Palace, Vienna, bringing together over 500 guests from CEE & Nordic European Regions. Huawei Introduces Innovative Cloud Video Endpoint TE10, Founds Cloud Enterprise Communications Alliance

Huawei TE10 brings HD video to Huddle-Rooms, open workspaces, mobile and cloud

(Shanghai Exhibition and Convention Center, September 1, 2016) Highlights of the Cloud Enterprise Communications session at HUAWEI CONNECT 2016 included the introduction of the Huawei TE10 Huddle-Room Cloud Video Endpoint and the new Cloud Enterprise Communications Alliance. The session also brought together over 300 experts and partners to discuss how enterprise communications can drive business agility and innovation in the cloud era.

The TE10, a major innovation in video conferencing, will enable small project teams and the general public to collaborate in small rooms over high-quality video. The TE10 is the first in the industry to incorporate six components into one endpoint and can be installed in about one minute.

The Cloud Enterprise Communications Alliance will help members migrate converged platforms to the cloud and extend applications from the office to production, according to Ma Haixu, President of Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line.

“To meet those goals, we need to strengthen technological advantages and platforms,” Ma said. “We also need to build a cloud alliance ecosystem with partners determined to build more open architectures.”

“The cooperation between Intel and Huawei will accelerate Big Video innovation,” added Wang Rui, Intel’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It will help us build a win-win ecosystem with partners and promote industry development in a rapid and healthy way.”

Wu Zhenhua, Director of Global Business Development, Strategy and Business Development, Huawei Cloud Core Network Product Line, told the gathering that, in the next five years, Huawei will invest US $50 million to cultivate 40 vertical industry solutions and 300 partners. He said Huawei expects that partners will double their revenues during that time.

“We also will develop 2,000 alliance members to build an enterprise-class audio and video ecosystem for a win-win future,” Wu said.

Huawei Launched Family Real-Time Video Alliance at HUAWEI CONNECT 2016

In 2015, hardware and related service revenues generated from the home network economy in China were 230 billion CHY a figure which is expected to reach 1.1 trillion CHY by 2020. The TV-centered home network economy will become the next major Internet market, attracting two-thirds of families in China. Due to the huge market potential, more than 20 partners, ranging from chip, STB, camera and application vendors, gathered at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2016 to discuss the video ecosystem economy.

Family Real-Time Video Alliance

Yesterday, Yang Peng, president of the Huawei cloud core network CS &IMS product line announced the establishment of the Family Real-Time Video Alliance along with 22 partners. Members include nearly 30 partners from chip, STB, camera, and application industries. Together they announced the vision of "creating a multi-billion real-time video market, starting with family services". The alliance aims to extend the application of real-time video from family life into every aspect of life.

Yang Peng began the speech with an introduction to the family real-time video market and the vision of creating a global cooperation and innovation ecosystem. He said Subscribers can enjoy real-time video calls on TVs, making it possible for TVs to bring family members closer together. Adding "TVs will act as a gateway for family services, spurring the rise of value-added services using real-time video capabilities, such as TeleMedicine, distance learning, and remote customer services. In addition, the core network will be dedicated to creating a global cooperation and innovation ecosystem for network, terminal, and ecology extension.

Skyworth, an alliance member, shared its vision of the family real-time video industry. Huawei's real-time video communication services have brought a low-bandwidth, low-delay, and high-quality service experience to audiovisual, real-time video, and real life business settings. Zhang Cheng, sales director of the Skyworth Telecom product line said As early as in 2015, Skyworth worked with Huawei in real-time video communication services and cooperation continues to grow in 2016, with STBs of different models and chip models manufactured to support Home Presence services. IoT: Huawei OceanConnect Works with Partners to Build a Better Connected World

Ma Haixu, President of Huawei’s Cloud Core Network Product Line, announced that OceanConnect provides more than 170 open application programming interfaces (APIs) and serial Agents. These features can accelerate the release of an application, simplify terminal access, ensure network connection, and implement seamless connection between the products of both upstream and downstream partners. Mr. Ma also pointed out that OceanConnect provides a one-stop service for partners, providing technical support, marketing support, and commercial cooperation. In-depth analysis provided by Jiang Tao, Chief Product Management Expert for Huawei’s Core Network Product Line, revealed that:
  • Many partners currently focus solely on IoT device production.
  • Device communication is hindered by technology bottlenecks.
  • Network access cost is high.
  • Time to market (TTM) for new services is long.

The development of IoT, cloud computing, and Big Data, is attracting more and more enterprises and entrepreneurs into the IoT industry. Despite the rapid development of IoT services, these new entrants are met with various challenges, such as complex network connections, difficult integration caused by too many terminal and sensor vendors, and long time-to-market for new services. OceanConnect is designed to help tackle these challenges.

To date, Huawei OceanConnect has integrated more than 200 terminals and sensors and cooperated with over 80 partners in the fields of Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Smart Home, public utilities, and oil/gas & energy. CaaS 2.0 introduces five capabilities (real-time voice, real-time video, network QoS, location information, and third-party application integration) all based on a unified platform. Introduces five capabilities to improve user experience and drive service innovation.
  • Real-time voice: Original CaaS 1.0 APIs have now evolved into scenario- and industry-specific APIs based on several years of commercial development. These APIs can be easily integrated into partner applications.
  • Real-time video: Communication is rapidly entering the video era as technologies such as VoLTE, SDK, and WebRTC, now conform to the "three screens (mobile/TV/computer) + one camera" format. The video development kit launched by Huawei enables in-depth integration of the carrier's HD low-latency, real-time video into markets such as distant education, telemedicine, and Internet financing. This delivers a better all-round service experience for customers.
  • Network QoS: Helps monitor the quality of the network that runs OTT applications to guarantee the required bandwidth and latency, delivering an optimal user experience.
  • Location information: Verticals can develop innovative services based on location information, such as indoor precise marketing and secure mobile payment.
  • Third-party application integration: Third-party applications can be integrated quickly to achieve hour-level service rollout. OPNFV's Participation in HUAWEI CONNECT 2016


HUAWEI CONNECT 2016 is the largest ICT industry ecosystem conference held by Huawei. The conference has attracted thought leaders and experts from around the world. OPNFV, the most influential Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) open-source organization, also attended the conference and, though their organizations differ, OPNFV found common ground with Huawei.
